Useful information: The tour takes about three to five hours for a maximum of four people. Our guide will accompany you at all times. The catch and coffee will be prepared on the campfire. The tour starts at Setran adventure farm. We will show you the beautiful Opløfjord with its numerous islets and bays in a stable boat of five metres. This allows us to find sheltered coves with ideal fishing spots regardless of the weather. Depending on the season we will go for cod, coalfish or mackerel. You will need neither experience nor equipment, our expert guide will show you everything necessary.
Along the way we will see small old farms which tell us about the history of the people of the Opløfjord. If we are lucky we will see ospreys and sea eagles catching fish. Scrubbing strips and a number of giant pots on the shore are witnesses of the last ice age some 10.000 years ago. Our guide will provide you with interesting background information about the nature and the history of the Opløfjord during the trip.
After we have been successful at fishing we will look for a sheltered bay to make a campfire on the beach. While the coffee is boiling on the fire we will enjoy the peace and quiet of the fjord. We will fillet our catch and prepare the fish and – if we are lucky – mussels on the fire. Some salt and pepper, bread and butter will turn our catch into a delicious meal. Surplus fish will be taken home.
